Matt Berglund

The No. 3 goal scorer in the metro area with 38. Helped lead Benilde to third place in the Class AA state tournament. Finished the season with 68 points (37 goals, 31 assists).
Dan Cecka - - The leading scorer on the Class AA state championship team. Had two goals and an assist in the state tournament to finish the season with 68 points (33 goals, 35 assists). Helped Hill-Murray end the season on a 16-game winning streak. Scored the winning goal 22 seconds into overtime to beat Class A champion St. Thomas Academy 4-3 on Feb. 9 at Xcel Energy Center, a win that clinched the Classic Suburban Conference title.
Jake Gardiner
- -
A finalist for Mr. Hockey. Was Minnetonka's leading scorer with 48 points (20 goals, 28 assists). Helped lead the Skippers to a 24-4 record and the Section 6AA final. Had a six-game stretch leading up to the sectional final, during which he had 10 goals and five assists. Headed to the University of Wisconsin.

Joe Gleason - - A 2008 Mr. Hockey finalist. Helped lead Edina to the Class AA state championship game against Hill-Murray. Finished the season with 41 points (9 goals, 32 assists). Headed to the University of North Dakota.
Ben Hanowski - - One of the state's top scorers during the regular season with 85 points. Led the Class A and AA tournaments in scoring with 10 points (7 goals, 3 assists). Finished the season with 48 goals and 47 assists. Headed to St. Cloud State in 2009.
Dano Jacques - - A key factor in Marshall holding opponents to an average of 1.71 goals a game during the regular season. Finished the season with 27 points (4 goals, 23 assists). Scored the winning goal in overtime to beat Hibbing/Chisholm 4-3 in the Section 7A final.
Justin Jokinen
- -
A finalist for Mr. Hockey. Helped lead Cloquet/Esko/Carlton to the Class AA state tournament. Led the Lumberjacks with 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists). After graduation in June, will play for the Indiana Ice (Indianapolis) of the United States Hockey League.

Tyler Landman - -
Could be Roseau's next big-time player after Aaron Ness leaves for the Gophers. Had a memorable performance in the Class AA quarterfinals with four goals and two assists against Blaine. Finished the season with 62 points (24 goals, 38 assists).
Anders Lee - - Came within one victory of winning a state championship at two schools. Was a freshman on St. Thomas Academy's Class A title team in 2006. Helped lead Edina to a 28-3 record and a runner-up finish in the Class AA state tournament. Finished the season with 52 points (30 goals, 32 assists).
Mike Lee
- -
A major component of Roseau's 28-0 season heading into the Class AA state tournament. Entered the tournament with 12 shutouts, a 0.80 goals-against average and a .952 save percentage. Had 82 saves in the state tournament to finish the season with 501.

Corey Leivermann - - The leading scorer with 87 points (45 goals, 42 assists) on the highest-scoring team in the state (208 goals). Helped lead West to a 26-4 record and the consolation final in the Class A state tournament. West also won its first Big Nine Conference title this season. Headed to Minnesota State Mankato.
Aaron Ness
- -
Was a key contributor to Roseau's 42-game winning streak over the past two seasons and the Rams' Class AA state title in 2007. Finished his high school career a year early to make the jump to college. Will graduate in June and attend the University of Minnesota in the fall. Led Roseau this season with 28 goals and 44 assists.

Joe Phillippi - - Won the Frank Brimsek Award as the state's top goalie. Had a sparkling Class AA state tournament, with two shutouts and 83 saves, to help Hill-Murray win the championship. Did not allow a goal in eight of the nine periods he played in the tournament, including five consecutive scoreless periods. Finished the season with a 24-3-1 record and 555 saves.
Bryce Ravndalen - - Helped lead Warroad to a 24-7 record and third place in the Class A state tournament. Finished the season with 52 points (25 goals, 27 assists).
Rob Vannelli
- -
The latest hockey standout from the Vannelli family. Helped limit STA opponents to 1.75 goals a game during the regular season. Finished the season with 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists). The son of STA co-coach Tom Vannelli, who played on two national championship teams at the University of Minnesota (1973, 1977). Rob's brother, Mike, was captain of the 2006-07 Gophers team.
Ryan Walters - - A rising star in Minnesota prep hockey. Helped lead St. Thomas Academy to its second Class A state title in three years. Had a productive state tournament with six goals and three assists. Finished the season as the Cadets' leading scorer with 75 points (36 goals, 39 assists).
Brandon Wigen - - Helped lead Woodbury to the Class AA state tournament consolation title. Had 112 saves in the tournament for a .918 save percentage. Entered the tournament with a 20-2 record and a 1.96 GAA. Finished the season with 611 saves.
Jake Youso
- -
Helped lead International Falls to a 23-4 record and the Section 7A semifinals. Finished the season with 69 points (33 goals, 36 assists). Scored eight short-handed goals. Committed to the Gophers but will spend next season with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL.
