                  How She Got Started
Katy didn’t get started playing hockey until U12.  She has developed very quickly.

She has a sister that played hockey at one time but no longer does. Neither one of her parents played

Katy has always played with the girls.  She is a little bit of a rink rat and looks for any opportunity to skate.  For example, she comes out often and works with the little girls in Mankato in the “learn to play” program.
To reinforce how young Katy really is, last season [as a 7th grader] during practice she had to sit for a minute because she pulled out one of her baby teeth and had the take care of the bleeding.

Katy is a terrific young player.   Her strong point is her hands and her ability to operate in small space.  She is joy to work with!

Katy did have a terrific year.  She continues to dedicate herself to being the best player she can be both on and off the ice; it is great to see that she is being rewarded for all of her hard work.
